Fiscal Assistant

Part-Time Temporary Position. The Brookline Planning and Community Development Department is seeking a skilled professional to provide administrative and financial oversight of the Town's federally funded Community Development Block Grant and HOME Programs. The fiscal Officer will help to ensure compliance with Federal regulations, provide technical support and monitoring of grant programs, help manage the HUD Integrated Disbursement Information (software) System and monitor and reconcile grant accounts. BA in accounting, business administration, or a related field; and three to five years of accounting or bookkeeping experience required; additional relevant experience may be acceptable in lieu of required education. Also required are:
knowledge of accounts payable and payroll; Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); fund accounting; the ability to exercise judgment and initiative in completing tasks; and strong computer and communication skills. Grant administration experience is highly desirable. This position is 20 hours per week for a maximum of six months with a salary of $27.04/hour. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
