Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor

Supports maintenance activities related to operations such as fleet management, snow removal, special events, and other miscellaneous needs that arise. Performs inspections and remains constantly alert for flaws or failures and creates short- or long-term plans to address conditions. Directly supervises journeyman, laborers, and tradesmen with the skills necessary to accomplish a wide variety of maintenance assignments; including carpentry, structural, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. This position will also intermittently coordinate the work of a small number of volunteers, interns or trainees, and participants in a youth employment training program. Ensures data contributing to total cost of facility ownership is charged to work orders in computerized maintenance management system. Develops and reviews project descriptions, justifications, scopes of work, specifications, and estimates for various construction and maintenance projects to include service contracts and serves as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for some of these projects. Plans, schedules, and coordinates work operations. Evaluates performance of subordinate employees through performance appraisal process counsels or praises employees as necessary. Certifies time and attendance, approves leave requests and extra hours requests, and ensures time and attendance records are accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Ensures a high level of accountability, discipline, and morale among subordinates. identifying and correcting safety and health violations:
ensuring that employees are properly trained and follow approved procedures:
instructing employees on safety requirements; investigating, reviewing and reporting loss incidents; initiating corrective measures for violations of the Occupational Safety and Health Act Standards; scheduling and directing periodic inspections. Possesses and utilizes knowledge of a wide variety of building maintenance, including historical preservation techniques and treatment for wood, masonry, and floor treatments. Provides experienced and professional repair and replacement work in carpentry (including post and beam), masonry, network infrastructure, electrical work, HVAC, and plumbing, and properly handles required tools, equipment and supplies. Be on-call and has responsibility for coordinating the Building and Utilities Program's response to operational and/or emergency situations. developing projects utilizing Cost Estimating Software System (CESS) or equivalent and other NPS systems; select and assign work to subordinates, making judgment calls on routine activities, emergency work, scheduling, work methods, and procedures; oversee the work of multiple building trades involved with the maintenance, repair, restoration, rehabilitation, and stabilization of historical and non-historical structures and the rehabilitation of public use facilities; assigning and overseeing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, network, carpentry, masonry and painting work. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
