Wellness Immunization Student Nurse

3.3 Quick Apply 1 hour ago Full Job Description Position overview: According to the federal CARES Act and in the states where regulations apply, vaccinations during the Covid-19 pandemic may be administered by a student nurse under direct supervision of a healthcare professional I.e. physician, registered nurse. Aveanna Healthcare, the heart of caring for patients in the wellness and immunization line of business, is seeking student nurses to assist with Covd-19 vaccinations at mass vaccination sites, community health fairs, employer groups etc. This pertains to student nurses in their senior year of nursing school (obtaining graduate nurse status) and must pass the Aveanna required training and competency program successfully. STUDENT NURSE - Job Responsibilities: Preparing, distributing and administering vaccination(s) prescribed by physicians standing orders Administer vaccines (per manufacturer instructions), and educates patients and caregivers about age specific immunizations, precautions/contraindications and possible adverse reactions Assisting with setup and break-down of immunization clinics Charting, either handwritten or via data entered into a computer If applicable, assisting patients with completion of vaccination consent forms Providing individual patient education, in accordance with accepted nursing practice regarding vaccine administration Utilized therapeutic communication techniques in order to facilitate the patient's optimum level of wellness Assisting in the management of potential vaccine reaction(s) I.e. localized, psychological fright, presyncope, and syncope (fainting), and anaphylaxis Administers CPR according to American Heart Association or American Red Cross standards (Basic Life Support for the Health Care Provider) to patients in cardiac arrest, or on an emergency basis Maintains compliance with wellness/immunization specific policies and procedures Reporting of incidents and/or injuries/needle sticks Proper biohazardous waste utilization and disposal Maintains appropriate infection control standards and precautions Proper utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE) Minimum Requirements: Actively enrolled in an accredited nursing program and in their senior year of nursing Meets professional nursing standards and pertinent local, state, and federal requirements Strong therapeutic communication Skills Preferred administrative data entry work experience, but not required Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Flexibility and timeliness in completing assigned tasks Physical Requirements: Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English Must be able to travel up to 30 miles Must be able to lift 50 pounds Must complete OSHA's Respiratory Protection Program I.e. N-95 respirator, face shields/goggles, gloves, gowns and if applicable, show coverings Must be able to sufficiently move equipment without assistance Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting Must be able to sit and climb stairs Must have visual and hearing acuity Environment: Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
