Internship 2 hours ago Full Job Description Summary: BRA/EDIC Title: Fundraising Intern Summary: Summer 2021 (Unpaid) Mission of Organization: The mission of the Boston Tax Help Coalition is to broaden pathways from poverty to financial empowerment by maximizing the impact of the Earned Income Tax Credit and other tax credits through quality, free tax preparation, financial education and economic stability opportunities. Internship Description The Fundraising Intern will assist the Development Coordinator in identifying and raising donor resources for the Coalition. Roles and responsibilities include: Writing: Assist with drafting or reviewing proposal narratives, letters of interest, award acknowledgements, and reports for funders Assist with creating and improving donor communication resources such as the annual report, webpage, brochures, or additional materials, as needed Research: Develop an understanding of foundation prospect research Research and recommend new foundation, government, and alternative funding sources Research current trends and data to strengthen funding requests Administrative: Attend fundraising meetings with the Development Coordinator Assist with fundraising events and individual donor solicitation, as needed Assist with other development tasks, as needed Key Qualifications: Excellent oral and written communication skills Interest in social justice issues and mission driven work Strong organization skills, with the ability to prioritize and work under strict deadlines Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as within a team environment Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel Experience with graphic design a plus, though not required Time Commitment: 8-15 hours a week from May/June - August 2021, flexible. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
