K-8 Music Teacher - Long Term Sub

4.1 Full-time 8 hours ago Full Job Description The Runkle School of the Public Schools of Brookline is seeking a highly energetic and enthusiastic full-time K-8 music teacher for a long-term sub position beginning on or close to May 17, 2021 through mid-November 2021. This teacher will be responsible for teaching Kindergarten through 5th grade General Music, 5th grade chorus and 6th through 8th grade chorus (with some modifications to chorus currently to follow current DESE guidance on singing). The successful candidate will have experience teaching singing and general music, music literacy, song games and music and movement activities. Some knowledge of and experience teaching takadimi or a similar music literacy system and solfege is preferred. Preference is given to candidates with piano and/or guitar accompanying ability or experience on another accompaniment instrument. In your cover letter, please outline your music teaching experience, your primary instrument (including voice) and secondary instruments (including voice) and your proficiency level on each, as well as if you have any music technology experience (such as Garage Band, or other similar programs), and what you would bring to our school community and music program. As written above for chorus, some classroom activities, such as singing, are currently modified in order to follow DESE guidance on singing. The successful candidate possesses and transmits a deep love for making music, and is a team player who works well with colleagues from within and beyond the Performing Arts department. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
